Tony Barnett, a professor of medicine at the University of Birmingham followed the development of Acomplia for several years and put his first patient on it within 48 hours of approval. Acomplia has performed well from Barnett’s point of view. He has prescribed it to 30 patients, one of whom stopped tang the drug, possibly due to gastro-intestinal side effects.
